My Story

Originally from Montreal Lake Cree Nation, Savannah grew up in Regina, SK where she completed her Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work and Certificate of Reconciliation Studies through the First Nations University of Canada.

Savannah spent 2 years living and working on unceded Coast Salish Territory as a youth outreach worker. While living in Vancouver, she participated in the LEVEL Youth Policy Program and created a policy ask regarding teaching the true colonial history of Canada in western academia.

In 2019, she relocated to Moh'kinsstis, otherwise known as Calgary, AB in Treaty 7 territory. She worked as a supportive housing case worker for some time before continuing on as a community success coach with Trellis.

In 2023, she moved back home to Regina and began her role as the program coordinator for My Aunt's Place and Isabel Johnson Shelter at the YWCA Regina.
